With this established local connection, Stephen George & Partners LLP has given its support to a new course, which is designed to help students develop the skills they require to become specialists in the science of architecture, technology, building design and construction.
Launching in 2015, the Architectural Technology BSc course has been designed to meet the current industry demand for graduating students with skills in technical and design capability, to enhance their employability for professional practice and to meet the continually evolving needs of the construction industry.
With the increasing demand for designers who can demonstrate both architectural and technology skills, the industry is especially seeking designers with a knowledge and understanding of Sustainability and with abilities to demonstrate the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
We are pleased to see that the University continues to expand its offer to students with the introduction of the new course, whilst at the same time also providing opportunities for valuable work experience placements within industry.
Stephen George & Partners LLP has given its full support for the course, not only in providing input within the course structure but also with its delivery and professional practice support for students and graduates. As a Chartered RIBA Practice, we look forward to seeing the next generation of Architectural Technologists thrive on this new course and then go forward to make valuable contributions to the construction industry and the environment in the future.
